Here are some pens I just picked up that are a mystery to me

They have no Lucas Film trademark so my guess is that they were not official licensed merchandise and may even be fan made
As much as I have been scouring Ebay over the last few years for oddball stuff , particularly for stationary type items , it seems unlikely that they are licensed since I have never seen anything like them before .

Fantastic items James . I had a quick look in my collectors book, and there isn't anything like them listed.
It almost looks like the pictures and logo's were hand cut out of a comic book, news print or advert. Do they look hand glued onto the pen cap?

Re: Show me your Gimcrack
Kind of what I was thinking but if it was hand done they did a pretty good job . The pictures were cut smoothly and I don't see any excess glue so I seriously doubt it was done by a young child .

Re: Show me your Gimcrack
I'm going to throw my Burger Chef Fun Meal R2-D2 Droid Puppet into the ring for this months gimcrack award.

Edit : I think that I'll try and scan the R2 images and print it out, and then make the R2 from the scan. The damn thing looks to be as big as the R2 from the 12" line.

Love the Burger Chef box Clint
So I was trying to hunt down more info on the lollipop pens I posted above and found a few pics ...

I vaguely remember the style of pens being used for advertisement frequently by different businesses and I believe they were made in the early 80's .
While were at it I also got this pen in the same lot ...

It has a LFL copyright but I am not sure of the manufacturer
I would hazard to guess that it was made by Butterfly Originals or Adam Joseph but can't seem to find any other pics or info elsewhere .
Does your "Magic Book" have it in it Clint ?

James, I'm glad you asked. Yes, Yes it does.
Butterfly Originals was a hell of a guess.
Sorry for my late reply. I was out at a meeting, then had to have lunch & then shovel some snow, before returning to my desk.
I'm glad you liked the Burger Chef box. When I first started looking at them. There were lots of them for sale, but now, not so many. They seem to get snapped up quickly.
I'm glad to see that the "lollypop pens" are a bootleg item.

Re: Show me your Gimcrack
Awesome
I do find it unusual that it isn't shown in a package of some sort . So I still need to find out if it was sold individually without a package (perhaps a in a display bin) , or if it possibly came in some kind of stationary set . I guess it is possible that it was a promo item or prize type item as well

Re: Show me your Gimcrack
I just checked the SWCA, and they have the pens listed, but no pictures or other information. They have blue, purple, & red ink listed

It's the Star Wars Super Collector's Wish Book (Fifth Edition) by Geoffrey T. Carlton.

Re: Show me your Gimcrack
That sure does look like the source of the lollypops!
I missed the use of the word "puppet" on that Burger Chef R2, that's pretty generous lol but I'm sure it would look awesome if you printed one and built it, all the same.

Is that pencil sharpener disguised as a tape dispenser or an error card
Great items James
Edit: Sorry James, if I followed the link and read it properly I could answer my own question

Don't worry Andy. I had exactly the same thoughts until I saw your post.

Nice crab trooper, Andy!
I was wondering if there was a thread to show other people’s custom moulded figures, I just ordered one that defies belief.

I also came across this variation at one point ...

I have no idea of the origins of these toppers but the larger ones are stamped China and the small one is Hong Kong
