Re: YOUR LATEST PICK UP'S - VOLUME 4
Picked up this lot of unpainted 1982 Micro Collection figures recently ...
The seller had them listed as West End Games figures so , because I have been actively searching for WEG figures , I was fortunate enough to see them
[800][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/800]
I think they would be considered unpainted factory overstock
The best part was that there were also a few figures from the unreleased Bespin Torture Chamber and Bacta Tank playsets included in the lot ...

The Torture Chamber and Bacta Tank playsets were going to be released in 1983 but due to the Micro Collections unpopularity they never made it to the stores since the line was cancelled .

James, that's a fantastic find.
Especially with the Torture Chamber and Bacta Tank figures. Well done my friend.

wow what a great score, on those micro collection figures James. Well done mate
It's awesome that you were able to pick up those unreleased figures too. Will you keep them as they are, or do you plan on painting them?

Re: YOUR LATEST PICK UP'S - VOLUME 4
Thanks Guys
I'll definitely leave them as is as I plan to sell them once I have done some more research on them and taken good individual pics for our library . I know that the paint can be stripped off of the ones that came with the playsets . I am pretty sure that a lot of the unpainted figures I see sold on ebay (and elsewhere) are simply stripped figures , frequently incorrectly described as prototypes or whatever .
There are a few things about these that make me fairly confident they are authentic unpainted factory overstock :
The seller I bought them from didn't know they were Micro Collection figures and had incorrectly listed them as West End Games figures .
The buy it now was quite reasonable and I can't find a trace of paint on any of the figures .
The seller didn't have any more Star Wars items for sale and hasn't sold any other SW items recently .
After I actually received the figures I contacted the seller to ask if they knew any history behind them . The seller told me that he bought them at a Flea Market in Ohio from a older couple who weren't even aware that they were Star Wars . Since the majority of Factory overstock figures would have only made it out in the hands of Kenner employees , these being bought in Ohio is a good sign .
The figure selection and number of duplicates also point towards them being Factory overstock - lots of doubles and triples . A couple of the hoth soldier figures have multiples of 6 and 10

Re: YOUR LATEST PICK UP'S - VOLUME 4
wow that's really cool that you managed to get a bit of backstory on the figures James. The link to Ohio definitely puts them in the right place to have come directly from a Kenner employee at some point. Plus as you say all those multiples lends credibility to the theory that they are most likely factory overstock. very cool

Re: YOUR LATEST PICK UP'S - VOLUME 4
These just arrived. I managed to pick up 4 of the harder to find Canadian Kelloggs C-3PO cereal boxes "Mask" (large "Save" rebate offer text in the bottom right corner).
If anyone has a Canadian version, Darth Vader they would like to trade for the extra Luke, let me know.

Thanks Andy. These are very hard to find. So I'm not holding onto any hope of finding a Vader.

Thanks Chris, Ian & Chris.
Unfortunately, they only had the 4 masks here in Canada. C-3PO, Luke, Vader & Stormtrooper.

Cheers Chris mate I am meaning to get one of those cabinets from IKEA to get a display going, currently most figures are in acid free bags stored in shoe boxes and old biscuit tins
