Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
Well I can say that aside from the R2 and 3po the average price I’ve paid (if not exact) is $200 each. Not cheap, but also not too crazy. Certainly nowhere near high end esb cards even.

I remember having a Helix pencil box/case it was brown plastic (meant to look like wood) with a Star Wars sticker on top, the top slid off then it could be swung into two sections (upper and lower) to hold your stationary school stuff

That is the one James but mine was a darker brown plastic (the colour of EV-9D9)
It was a good sturdy pencil box, I regret not keeping it

Toy show score, and it had the correct Canadian playset in it as the AT-AT had no guns on its head.
Box is pretty rough, I might have been able to straighten it out but the dealer packing taped the hell out of the right side which is really unfortunate. Perfect graphics under this annoying looking tape. Smh it made it so many years untouched till an “expert”stepped in last week.

It really didn't need the tape. It seems he did it so the parts could stay inside easier (for transportation to a toy show? the very notion lol, meanwhile, this box has graduated well beyond the peasant duties of being a practical container for a playset good heavens
I might try and remove it, not sure if that's better closer to the application or not. I`ve had some luck on other boxes.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
Well done Chris. You've been listening to TVR podcast. It was featured on the last one.
I would leave the tape, as removing it may damage the box even more.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
Yeah just almost wish the guy hadn’t told me it was him that or it on like a week ago lol the deal was already done lol so brutal. I could probably make it more “square” we’re the one end not taped.
I did know that thing about the guns before that TVR episode (I think it came up on an old chive cast too) but yeah I did find that oddly coincidental as TVR dodnfocus on the Canadian version quite a bit. There was a Canadian AT-AT there too, and I do want one of those but there was a large portion of the rent graphic ripped off.
I can’t rule out the possibility that TVR had some sort of subconscious effect on how I spent my Monday at that show lol but I’ve certainly never seen that box at a local event before.
The box for the ice planet is really much larger than I had expected.

If you use a hairdryer to heat the tape it will remove easier - keep it hot in the area your peeling . Since it sounds like a recent application of tape it will be less likely to leave adhesive behind as well .

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
I was in "La belle province" (Quebec) for work last week and I followed up a couple cheap local classified ads and turned up this lot of Canadian paper:

The only thing that is an import from France is the Super8 reel but it was too cool to pass up. Everything else is a French Canadian exclusive version, even the ROTJ novelization which I at first assumed was an import from France but apparently not.

Well done. Now that you're addicted to the French gimcrack, are you going to try and complete the run of french comics?

Well I may have a guy who is gonna message me if anything shows up at his store
AT AT Playset
That’s a really great find Chris.the89thchris wrote:Toy show score, and it had the correct Canadian playset in it as the AT-AT had no guns on its head.

Shame about the tape, and the fact that the dealer put it on last week must grate a bit.
As already mentioned, as the tale is fresh, try removing a small bit with the aid of a hair dryer, and see how it goes.
If you do please post before and after pictures, I would be intrested in seeing the result.
