Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
Well done Chris.
As well as being the only 2 Canadian MIM cards (figures not shown on back, as Chris said). They are the only 2 with UPC codes on the back.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
Thanks, guys. There were some other figures in that find which I would have liked too, but I had to prioritize lol Canadian AT-ST driver and a Teebo. The rest I already had examples of.
Just noticed the UPC when you mentioned that.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
I am not sure when the last time was I posted in this section, I did pi k up a nice set off a guy here in the city. The figures are in really nice shape with a few accessories included. I still need to go through them all to get a better idea of what's what.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
Gonna make the first post of 2018 in here(even though I got this 2 days ago), you guys might find this one interesting.
Anyone recognize this guy? These might be the highest resolution photos of one of these ever lol certainly with the coolest background imho
My best offer was accepted and it was about half of the asking price. Also, I can only find one other example of this item/character online.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
Excuse my ignorance Chris, but what is that R2? and how big is it (I'm guessing it's quite small)? I don't think I've seen one of those before.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
They are called "Yupi" Cereal Premiums, produced in the late 80's exclusively in Columbia. The R2 is about 1 inch tall.
Here is probably the biggest collection, owned by Yehuda Kleinman, and he doesn't seem to have the R2. (at least, at the time this post was made) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I just picked it up because I didn't expect my offer to be accepted lol as I said, there are only two R2's that I've seen photographed online, this being one of them (the other was white) and if you're gonna have an R2, blue is surely the colour of choice.
Its certainly a bit dopey, but the Kenner inspired design makes it interesting to me, that explains the detail-free trash can.
Here is probably the funniest line in that SWCA article: "As far as rarity is concerned, at present most figures are only known currently to exist in the low single digits in all colors combined. In addition, no advertising or discarded packaging has been found to date."

Nicely done Chris. I remember the SWCA podcast on the Yupi figures. Very interesting figures.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
I like it. Its a bit silly but like Andy said, they don't come up often. There are a couple auctions up now but the prices are jokes, attempting to elicit high best offers, I assume.
Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 2
That's an unusual interesting piece, well done for getting it for a good price, I miss the premiums you used to get in cereal boxes, here in the uk I don't think they offer anything anymore, is it the same worldwide?
