Re: grinchys star wars props
cheers mate, they are slightly translucent adds to the realism, bit of paint on them to shade the bottoms works well, thanks again

Heres a couple of freddy pieces I've made over the years, first up a silicone freddy bust, silicone is a new material to use for me, its a bugger to paint, but the translucent nature of the material makes it look like flesh

Heres a freddy snake bust I made years ago now, not quite life sized from nightmare 3, my son is in the pic to give it scale, he's 18 next month so an old one

That alien head is so great! Some company put out a licences 1:1 “Big Chap” head a year or two ago, I remember being underwhelmed by the level of detail. But then I realized that I’m used to looking at that head in smaller scales.
Re: grinchys star wars props
Cheers guys, Yeah the Alien head was a favourite,

Re: grinchys star wars props
The movie UP is a favourite of ours, the Karl fredrickson character really stuck with me, I decided to do a silicone bust of the character, but a human version of the cg character, making his blocky head more human, I was pleased with how it turned out, each hair on his head was inserted one at a time took over 14 hours work just to do the hair

I'm not sure who it is? It looks fantastic though.
The old man up character looks awesome. It could be used for another live action re-make.

I wouldn't have guessed prince phillip, but we don't get that much coverage of him, here in Canada. Only when he gets into car accidents.
My wife is a huge fan of the UP move as well. The old man is her favourite character as well. I'll have to show her your work.

Re: grinchys star wars props
No problem, he's a hard one to get right, if i'd had more time I could have done a better job on the likeness, not to worry
Me and my wife fell in love with the movie, I got her the grape soda badge as a present a few years ago, then I made the bust

Heres an older project I did for a friend, he bought a pred mask from another maker and after delays he finally got this
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
boss eyed unfinished and not much good, I stripped the paint off, took ages to get it all off
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I made new eye inserts for it so it was no longer boss eyed and repainted the whole head, it was an interesting redo, he was made up with it

Re: grinchys star wars props
Heres a few in progress shots of an old project, loved Michael Jacksons Thriller vhs tape, I must've worn that tape out watching and rewatching it
I decided to sculpt a bust of the werecat here's a few pictures of the sculpture in progress, first pics roughed in shapes done
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
lines and wrinkles roughed out
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
finished sculpture
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
At this point I slice of the ears to mould them separately, then make a two part mould of the head, heres a pic of the mould
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
once that was cleaned out, I poured up a rubber head from it, and started to paint
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
once that was done I started the hairwork, done in layers then styled once it was all done, individual hairs were inserted near the hairline
