question
On a ceramic star wars figure, if during the making, the item has a large portion (like 35-40% of it) of imperfection (the ceramic never glossed/shines like the rest of the item, is it/can it be more valuable then a normal/correctly made item? Also, is it common place for the maker to let such pieces get to the market place? Thanks for any input. Scioli

Re: question
Although I am no expert on the ceramic figures/items, I would say there is probably a price difference between them. I know the figurines in 1977 were mostly bootlegs so there were differences between them like Chewie for instance.
Imperfections would have been a issue as they were done by making a clay mold first, as with the above mentioned Chewie toe one on the right is more crudely done.
Here is a link to the collectors archive for your interest.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge will also chime in.

Re: question
Bootleg Ceramics are a very niche area of collecting. They are not usually worth more than production figures.
