Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 3
I picked up this board game at a recent Empire State Star Wars Collectors Club meet-up. I normally stick to Canadian stuff but I'd never seen this one before and I loved the box art. Apparently its ESB era despite the theming from the first film.

Nice one Chris.
I think that I may have seen a Canadian version at some point. But I can't remember.
I've been trying to look on the SWCA, but the archive data base isn't loading at the moment.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 3
Pretty sure the "source image" for that Vader is an ESB photo lol the lighting just looks as he does on the Star Destroyer.
Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 3
That is a cool game and artwork on the cover for sure. I don't recall ever seeing that version. THanks for sharing Chris.

According to the SWCA, it's a Star Wars 1977 release. But on the image they have shown, someone has written on a sticky note 1982?

It looks like there wasn't a Canadian release.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 3
Yep, it was being discussed by some archive-related individuals at the meetup and their consensus was 82. As I said, the Vader source image appears to be of that era. I'm having a hard time exactly screen matching the source image they used for reference but it really looks like an ESB version of the helmet to me.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 3
It actually reminds me of the Vader head on the Trading card packages. Just slightly turned a bit more.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 3
Yeah its a bit like that, but if one were to identify the precise reference image, the glares on the helmet would match. That shot from Hoth up there is pretty close.

Here's my latest pickup which I've shared on the TantiveXI social media pages. This is an early bootleg lightsaber. There was a US version that had a different sticker.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 3
Thanks guys, I love it and its awesome that the old light bulb still works! I picked it up at a store in Toronto, but they said a dealer at one of the local shows had a few. I assume I paid a premium on it.
But to be honest, it was behind the counter and placed in such a way that it was hardly noticeable in the store. I think if it were better displayed it would have been long gone.

A few Canadian puzzles, and a Han Solo novel from Australia/New Zealand.

Thanks guys. The boxes are not sealed. The seller says they are complete. But I still have to check for myself. I was really surprised how nice the boxes are as well.

Damn! Nice score, Andy! not sure I've ever seen one of those for sale, myself. I've seen the Canadian 79 back a few times but never that one.
Nice job on the assist, Clint! And it was from RS? That's great!

We are up to nine Royal guard MOC's (all slightly different) now mate
The very first Royal guard I received ever was in the free giveaway when the Tantive forum launched, a Kenner 65 back donated by Steve Pullman
I was that impressed with it I wanted more so the little side focus was born and is now up to nine, I will sort a group shot out mate
