SCAM ALERT - Gary Appleby on Facebook

Just wanted to warn anyone here who may not be on FB, there's a guy on there known as Gary Appleby. Background - at Celebration, he created a controversy where he offered to raise money for someone by selling T-shirts, and then distributing them at Celebration. When the time came, he suddenly "had an issue" and didn't show up, keeping all the money. A couple of weeks ago, he said he was feeling guilty and promised to make things right.

Anyway, a couple of hours ago, the same guy posted a tri-logo Leia Hoth for sale on FB for 200 GBP. Price was fishy and some called him out on it. Joe B'Brien quickly discovered the pics were stolen from Rebelscum. He has been banned over there, but please, if anyone with this name tries to make a deal with you - run.

I probably need to make more effort myself to alert the non-FB guys about scammers we pick up in the groups.

Nice catch. Haven't purchased anything on FB but its amazing that these guys don't make more of an effort to hide their identity after they've already been marked
