Mexican Coca-Cola & Christmas

Mexican Coca-Cola & Christmas
Despite not usually drinking coca-cola most of the year, I like to search my local independent convenience stores and foreign grocery stores for Mexican Coke's around Christmas time. Something about that classic tall glass, green, iron-infused bottle really speaks to my consumerism loving heart. Not only that, but it had the added "exotic" element of being made using cane sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup is pretty novel too.

This year I went to the convenience store where I had bought them last year, dropped about $20 for 8 bottles just to find out (when I got home) that these are just a new release of the standard american formula in nearly incidental bottles as the Mexican ones. Maybe you guys in the U.S. always had these available but this is the first time I've seen them. Also I checked a few other likely retailers and they all seem to have this new one.
Annoying because that's half the cool factor lol anyone else aware of this or do most of you avoid horribly unhealthy beverages all year round?

Interesting, I didn't even know they still make it with sugar cane! I'm not a big fan of sodas (Belgium is not so far from here, so I'm wayyyy to tempted all of the time by their beers ) but I'll check how Coke is made over here.

Yeah it's certainly the commercials. There was that long lasting urban legend that Coke invented Santa. Not quite accurate lol some of the stylistic elements perhapse.

I LOVE Coke but do my best not drink it....Those glass bottles are way cooler than the cans and shitty plastic bottles. Maybe it's psychosomatic but I feel that the coke tastes crispier coming from a bottle. Same with beer. I can't drink beer from a can!
