Episode 43 review
The episode starts off with Jez’s quiz on POTF MOC’s. That was a fantastic quiz
It was great that you linked the game to the “Star Wars Tracker” & The POTF Facebook Group. POTF MOC’s is something that I don’t know a lot about. So this very interesting.
The discussion about Empire Day with David Prowse’s last public outing was great. I loved hearing all the personal stories about David visiting schools and the stories about his long career. I’ve seen the documentary “I’m Your Father”. I recommend that everyone give this a watch. It was a good one.

Thanks for the Rancho Obi-Wan theft update. If you didn’t hear the boys on the podcast. Carl Cunningham got 12 months custodial sentence, 3 yrs probation, & ordered to pay back $185,000.
The interview with Mark Newbold & the new “Fantha Tracks” web site.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This is a great new site with news, collecting tracks, interview, reviews, and a whole lot more.
Mark has a lot of great stories, and was a pleasure to listen too.
Newest Acquisitions.
Congrats to Lee Bullock on getting a boxed 12” Lili Ledy Jawa. These are so few and far between, still in the box. Lee will be smiling all the way thru to next Christmas.
Congrats to Bill (hellhippy) on his Yoda acquisition. Sorry Bill, I don’t remember which one it was. You have got a couple different Yoda’s lately.
I enjoyed listening to Ron Salvatore talk about the Y-Wing Fighter. This is another ship that I didn’t have as a child. I agree with the discussion, that this is a fantastically sculpted ship. It’s too bad that those struts & clips are so fragile.
The “Senate Debate” was very interesting to hear all the views, and really enjoyed the debate on customs. With the current technology, and the ability to either 3D print or cast our own parts should drastically reduce the number of vintage figures being used for customs. I have to agree with whom ever said, "you have to do this for your own enjoyment". You can't look at it as a way to make money. That's why I always make 2 of each figure that I create. One for myself and one to trade or give away. We are also lucky to have some very talented customizers on the TXI forum.
You can check them out here.

The more I look at the y-wing it really is underappreciated. Not many collectors think "I've got to get a y-wing!" as much as a Falcon or X-Wing.

The Kenner x-wing doesn’t do much for me, I must admit lol got 2 falcons though, one boxed.
I’d like a y-wing boxed, I’ve seen a couple Canadian boxed ones but the condition wasn’t quite displayable.
Great episode as always, Rich! Thanks for the links, Clint.

Thanks for the update Jez. I'm looking forward to the new episode. I have a short Christmas special review to post, hopefully tomorrow as well. I didn't listen to the holiday special for a while, because I put off seeing TLJ.

***** EPISODE 44 NOW LIVE *****
Its a New Year but the Vintage Rebellion team are back and doing what they do best.

Re: The Vintage Rebellion Podcast 2016 and beyond
Listened to it, (I have a rediculously long commute) do you think TVR likes TantiveXI, guys? it’s great to have so much mentioned, from the quality of the library, wild new aquasitions, to Clint & Christian’s Orlando trip.
It was also great to be mentioned in NA again personally, even though it’s clear that a Canadian Uncle Gundy MOC is an acquired taste. I guess they recorded just before I got my blue Yupi R2, as that's far more interesting lol (congrats on getting that red R5, Rich)
I was a bit surprised to have unlicensed Star Wars arcade games on the Vectrex mentioned but excluding Star Fire, (which I photographed when I picked it up here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) as that is actually a somewhat competent vector recreation of the classic arcade game, but then again, it was a 90’s home brew so it’s not vintage.
Great episode as always! It’s a shame to lose Jez for a couple episodes, but self improvement is paramount, and everyone likes an overly elaborate comeback.

I got my copy of the Fanzine today. Thanks for posting it, all the way here.
I'll have to get a digital copy of the tape, as my Walkman doesn't want to work. I'm guessing the belts have all dried out and hardened.

Re: The Vintage Rebellion Podcast 2016 and beyond
2017 Holiday Special review
The episode starts off with a great quiz based on StarWars Tracker information on the most sold figures. This had some very interesting facts. Well done.
I really enjoyed the George Lucas song. Hopefully there are more songs out there, like that.
I did enjoy The Last Jedi movie review discussion. I finally went to see the movie between Christmas & New Years. I agree with what seems to be the worst bits of the movie. But overall I did enjoy it. Lets hope the all the new upcoming movies continue to get better and better.
Congrats again to Jez for the Guiness Record for a marathon as a Star Wars character. And more importantly, the staggering amount raised for the Make a Wish charity. I will say it again. We will see the Running Stormtrooper again.
I loved hearing about TVR crews trip to FACTS in Belgium. Sounds like you guys had a great time. It’s too bad about not making it into the cosplay contest. Those costumes where fantastic. Well done Pete (I heard rumours it was Pete that made them).
Steve Savory did an awesome job with the interview at the Wantage Comic Con. The team should hire him full time.
What can I say about “Silent Night by Chewbacca”. It’s sooo last year. There might be a couple more songs in that thread you may like.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Thanks again to all TVR crew (new & old) for a fantastic year & all the hard work you do every month. I wish you the very best in the year to come.

Episode 44 review
Cabinets, cabinets, cabinets. Who doesn’t enjoy some good display cabinet discussion. This is something that I’ve been looking at seriously, for the last few months. I personally like the Detolf cabinets, but they are not going to meet my displaying needs. I have too many items that wouldn’t fit in the Detolf.
I’m also limited in the height of cabinets, by the bulkheads that run around the ceiling in my office. I’m leaning towards something a little more rustic looking. The Hemnes series cabinets would look good in my office. The are short enough to fit under the bulkhead and still be able to put some of the larger loose ships on top (like the Imperial Shuttle). I’ve also seen some nice LED lighting options from Ikea as well.

The info for newbie collectors was a great idea. I think when we all started, we made some of those mistakes, like rushing and buying everything. Also, not buying complete figures with the weapons. The new collectors today have it even worse, with all the new reproduction weapons coming out.
Richard’s guessing game quiz was fantastic. Congrats to Jez on the big win.
I really enjoyed the interview with Jon Aves and his Palitoy collection & his collecting stories.
Newest Acquisitions
Congrats to Michael Sith on all the open bubble MOC’s. I appreciate collecting lower quality “affordable” Star Wars items these days.
Thanks to Chris Georgoulias on all the great info on the 1st Shot Ewoks line unpainted heads from the 2nd wave. It’s great that so much from these lines survived.
Play-Doh, Play-Doh, Oh give me some Play-Doh. I enjoyed the talk on all the different Play-Doh kits. I never new that Play-Doh was designed to be putty for windows.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Congrats to “the89thchris” and his Canada Uncle Gundy MOC. The chat about all those single card fronts for all the Canadian MOC’s was interesting. Or “dull” as Richard put it so well.

Episode 45 drops whilst the UK is covered in snow, which is fitting as the episode has a very Hoth feel.
Richard has recently been to Finse, Norway for an event based on Hoth and hosted at the filming location, this month instead of a feature interview we hear all about the trip which includes interviews with others who attended the event or presented. Some great stories of the filming era which you may or may not know but definitely worth a listen.
Stuart takes over hosting duties on Newest Acquisitions whilst Jez is at school. The team look at several items which include a Pre-production Diecast TIE-Fighter wing, a mint Return of the Jedi two pack, 12" Luke Skywalker Bespin transparency and a beaten up Luke Skywalker Model Trem. We hear from two collectors as they discuss their recent purchases, Dallas Ewen discusses his Grubee exclusive cups which were only available in food outlets around Winnipeg, Canada and Blake Bundy tells us about picking up his final 12 back to complete the run. Of course NA finishes with a look at one specific item, this month the lads look at the Hoth Ice Planet Adventure Set where the Vintage Alliance come up with more great information.
In a new section, Peter looks at other non action figure related Hoth items that may tickle people's fancy. Along with the top 5, Simon attempts to dazzle us with his Gimcrack but can it beat Richard's controversial entry.
Rich looks at a range of topics during Rebel Briefings, from the current collecting climate including asking whether POTF MOCs were sold in the UK and whether current eBay practices are ethical. This is balanced out with an update to Brian Angel's quest and some more news of great fundraising ventures.
With Peter undergoing a new section, Simon jumps in to reinvent the Market segment, during this element Simon takes a look at the market place from eBay to auction houses, plus takes a look at current AT-AT prices, has this huge piece become the flavour of the month???
The podcast is filled with so much more, from the usual quiz to Richard trying to dig himself out of a Detolf hole, it's all here. Hey, even Jez drops by to give us a Running Stormtrooper update!!!
Enjoy the show!
