Hello everybody,

My name is Anwar and I've just joined the group.

I'm located in Utrecht, Netherlands.

Some of you might know me from various Facebook groups.

After completing my loose run I needed a focus. Bespin Leia it became because to me she has the most variation and a lot of really beautiful faces. :-)
It helped that there is this great page about her which was made by Jay. He did an awesome job and I try to add a little to his great insight in this figure. ;-)

I have a Facebookgroup about her. ( Bespin Leia Vintage Collectors) Feel free to join.

A friend of mine, Marco Jay, asked me to join this page because we can discuss our hobby over here and the topics aren't as easily lost in the threads as they are on Facebook.

Funny because I was with Marco over the weekend and he actually mentioned you. We were at the Dutch Comic Con. Utrecht is a cool place. I live in Den Haag....

Anwar have you seen the website that one of our mods set up? It's a bit outdated though as Jay has been away from the hobby for a while because of health problems.

Yes! I know this site! It is Awesome! Has been my Bible for the last months. One of the main reasons I got into my focus!

I mention it all the time and am ever so gratefull for the great work Jay did! Hope to speak with him some day. I got some information he might like.

I wish him all the best and we keep the love for Bespin Leia alive! ;-)

Hi I am Guy,

Very new in relative terms to collecting, having been only doing so for the last two years. Like so many, I was born in the late 70's and found myself hooked on Star Wars having watched it aged 4 on a dodgy video at my mum's friend's house whilst they were entertaining. Watching that big old spaceship chase the little one as I saw it blew my mind and I was hooked. Then there was the toys, I was lucky as my parents bought me all sorts, ATAT figures etc, I even had my parents friends and work colleagues looking for them for me...great days (I have some pics somewhere- will see if I can find them).

Then the dark days, Star Wars was in my consciousness but as I turned 14 became less and less of importance losing out to girls, bikes and trainers.

Role on a couple of decades and here I am, I went to a wedding of my wife;s mate, the groom was into Star Wars and three hours and many beverages of the alcoholic nature, I was back in the world, and I her I am rolling in nostalgia and a sort of addiction, although I have not got the DT's (both kinds) yet. So I started buying, Ebay as we all probably have, then onto Spanish and Mexcian forums and the odd little shops you encounter with figures etc. I liked the odd stuff, condition was not immaterial but was not a deal breaker. in the end I wandered further than the for sales and joined SWFUK having listened to the podcast, looked at TIG and then here, TANTIVE XI the seemingly spiritual home of variant collectors and all those odd things about Oola .

Now all I have to do is post some pics of my stuff to date, get some feedback and learn...

oh and on aside note I blame Javi and his book for me having less money Wink
