Cookie Wampa!
I'll add more shots and info when the sun decides to stay steady for more than a minute.
But as my new avatar suggests, I whipped up a new, basic custom. Super simple and basic.
Airbrushed blue (so much nicer than brushing large areas). But I have concerns and questions and he probably isn't done.
And, it has nothing to do with Family Guy. Well, at least on a concious level.
My niece loves the Wampa and Cookie Monster, so I wanted to make a funny crossover.
After I made it, I googled Cookie Wampa and man, Fmaily Guy! I love FG and watched all the SW episodes and do remember it now. So I don't know if the seed was planted or not.
Anyway.... I still like it.... funny as hell! "COOKIE!"

Great job Jay. But from what I hear, you'll need to repaint him orange and have him eating carrots.

The problems I am having is, no matter how many coats of paint, the joints rub off too easily. The plastic is unlike figures so it doesn't adhere or permeate like it does in softer plastics.
So is there a way I can prevent this? Perhaps a top level coating of something to help?
Anyway..........
COOKIE!
cheers!
Re: Cookie Wampa!
I have heard that you can put a thin layer of superglue over the paint on joints to protect the paint . You would have to do it in stages of course to keep from glueing the joints together .

hrrmmm.... the legs might work, but the arms will be a pain with the wampa-action!ourchickenshack wrote:I have heard that you can put a thin layer of superglue over the paint on joints to protect the paint . You would have to do it in stages of course to keep from glueing the joints together .
I might give that a go! Thanks!
Re: Cookie Wampa!
I used Testors Enamal paint for that reason. But I haven't moved the arms and legs much.

Re: Cookie Wampa!
Yeah.. that's the thing... I want my little 4 year old niece to be able to play with it a little when she stops by so it will get destroyed quickly if my tiny movements are any indication of it right now.Commander Clint wrote:I used Testors Enamal paint for that reason. I'll pick up another beater Wampa and give a test I guess. Anyone got one for cheap?
Re: Cookie Wampa!
That's funny, I figured it was inspired by family guy, but even better if it was created before, you remembered seeing it before.

Re: Cookie Wampa!
I normally use a plastic clear primer then paint the figure and hit it with a plastic clear coat the same process I use on model kits it seems to work great.
