I decided to collect Stormtrooper cardbacks as it is one of the few characters to be found on nearly all types of cardback. Besides, who doesn't like Stormtroopers? (OK, the Rebel Alliance nanny

)
As much as I would like to have focused on a moc collection, cardbacks have the advantage of being far cheaper and they take up a fraction of the space. Wink

I've got a long way to go, but I'm enjoying the chase, and it gives me an added interest.

Hopefully, as it grows this limelight will act as a useful reference for other cardback / moc collectors.

Factory code: K ('Kader' Hong Kong). The '(with figures)' text under the Star Destroyer Playset has been crossed out with biro. This is quite common as I gather the text was not intended as I have never seen a Palitoy Star Destroyer with figures included.

The 'offer ends January 31st 1984' text has been inked out with a marker. This is commonly seen on Palitoy 65 C&D cards.

With this issue the Meccano factory used the same cardstock as Palitoy, but packed the figure behind a ROTJ style bubble which is smaller than a Tri-logo bubble and has round, not square corners as evidenced by the damage to the card caused by the bubble being removed. Meccano also released this figure with the 'UFO' style punch hole more typically associated with Meccano Tri-logo cards (see below).

Meccano Tri-logo with the 'UFO' punch hole and a 'Fabrique a Macao' sticker applied over the printed 'Made In Hong Kong' coo. It also had the smaller ROTJ style bubble as opposed to the larger Tri-Logo bubble seen on other European issues.

your collection has really come on a long way clapping

In fact it was your stormie cardback collection that inspired me to start collecting Vader cardbacks........ well, that and the fact that I will never be able to afford most Vader MOC's lol!

I will have to start a Vader cardback limelight at some point.

I certainly do Peter (as well as many others). My Palitoy 41B has the factory code K & with the obvious modifications, I assume that the Palitoy version was adapted from the Kenner card?

There is a common factor here - Kader Industrial Company Ltd. made the Stormtrooper figure for both Kenner and Palitoy. king
