Custom swoop Bike
I've been working on this custom swoop bike for my Tatooine diorama for a while now.
I bought a 1996 "Shadows of the Empire swoop bike" off eBay, then disassembled it, to remove the rear flaps and side gun.

I then reassembled the bike. Filled the top rear cavity (that the missing flaps exposed) with miliput and sprayed the whole thing with a grey acrylic primer.

I then searched through an old bag of Lego bits n bobs and found some parts that, once trimmed down to size, I thought would fit nicely to re build the back section of the bike. I then primed these parts, glued one section over the top of the milliput area. Then painted the who;e thing with a black wash, to bring out more of the details. The rear side fins I blu tacked on, at this stage. To see how it looked. I didnt glue them onto the bike at this stage, as it would be easier to paint everything separately.

Once I had applied the black wash, I started painting in different sections in black, that I wanted to either keep black or have a metallic finish to. An undercoat of black really sets off the metallic paint, such as gun metal, really nicely.

Next I started painting individual sections in my chosen colour scheme. I also purchased a G I Joe back pack, which I painted and applied to the side of the bike.
Finally I added weathering, by applying a brown wash, dirt streaks and paint chips. To give the whole thing a more dirty and used appearance. Then lastly i applied a couple of coats of clear matte acrylic varnish to protect the paintwork.

Re: Custom swoop Bike
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind comments
I enjoyed working on this custom and look forward to taking some cool action/diorama shots with it. But I need to pick up another DSLR Camera first, as the old Olympus camera I was using, has packed up.
I took these pics using my phone, but it's very limiting on the kind of shots that I can take.
