1978 Burger Chef Fun'n Games Booklet (12 Back)

There are actually 2 different 12 back Burger Chef catalog variations . One has the "Find the Figures" game on the back cover and the other variant has a "Maze" game on the back .

Also worth noting is that these catalogs are basically one of the 1978 12 Back Catalogs (with the X-Wing cover) that have had additional Burger Chef cover put on top of them .

If you look closely at the pink pages you'll see many early prototype toys shown . The Dewback , Droid Factory and Die Cast Ships are very neat examples in particular

The first 2 catalogs for The Empire Strikes Back toy line both had the same basic logo design on the front and back covers . The only way to tell them apart by just looking at the covers is the 31 back has 5 copyright lines on cover while the 32 back only has 2 copyright lines on the cover .

1982 "Collections" Catalog - Hoth Battle Scene (48 Back )

This is probably the most confusing catalog out there and has more variations then any other catalog we are aware of . They all contain the same basic information and photos but have a lot of other subtle variations . To start with they can be found with a Grey or Silver cover ...

The color difference is not as obvious at first until you see them side by side , which also shows that the Grey cover version is about 1/8 " larger both ways .

The backs also have a P.O. Box address change :

One other difference that is very difficult to show in photos is that the Grey cover catalogs have thinner pages which are not as glossy as the Silver cover versions .

As you can see , most (if not all) the 48 Back catalogs can be found with either a string bound spine or a stapled spine . It also seems that the Silver cover catalogs can be found with either the number 236-088-00 or 236-088-01 in the lower right hand corner on the back cover :

We haven't been able to verify yet if the Grey cover can be found with the same anomaly  

With all the color , spine binding and the number on the back cover variations , you can see why this catalog is confusing

This is the same catalog as pictured above but you will notice that there are quite a few duplicate pages and/or pages out of order in this particular catalog . The catalog shown here was incorrectly bound originally and it is a factory error .

At first glance the covers of the 77 Back and 79 back Catalogs look the same but when compared side by side you can see a couple minor changes that will help you tell the difference . On the front cover the Kenner logo and copyright information are in different locations :
