Short introduction:
The Luke Farmboy figure was (and still is) a very popular figure and therefor may have been produced all along the vintage run of '77-'85.
He, like many other vintage figures, was produced by various different production facilities from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan,
shown by the different Coos (Country of Origin) on his leg. He came with a lightsaber that was placed inside his arm to be extended by a hilt.
Star Wars vintage lightsabers (not only Luke Skywalker's, but also Vader's and Kenobi's) are not all the same!
They just like the figures have gone through different stages of production methods and came from different production facilities and
therefor show variations, mostly visible in the transition from the thicker saber part to the thinner part, the 'tip' at the end of the saber.
Each figure with its certain COO has a specific saber it came with when mounted on the cardback or placed in a baggie at the factory.
This thread is based on the weapons guide of the imperial gunnery forum, but I'll do one of my own this year 2016!

That's a beautiful example of an ESB Luke, and like James said, the photo quality is excellent. Far surpasses my own.

No worries! The little plus sign isn't described very well at all. Just a way of saying you like someone's post. It increases that poster's "Yavin Honor" (you see it listed among the items under your name on the left) by 5 points.
What do you need help with? Have you been collecting long?
