Early PBP ("Poch") Luke Farmboy with Brown Hair
Bienvenida,Luke Caminacielos!
The early PBP ("Poch") Luke Farmboy figures with brown hair differ a lot from their Kenner brother (in the middle).
The PBP figures have a pale neck, pale hands, and greenish brown trousers. The head though is the exact same head as on the Kenner figure, including a steelmould defect on the side of the head.
Luke Farmboy with Dark Hair. Left (PBP), Middle (Kenner), Right (PBP).
This is a typical Class II PBP figure, meaning that the figure is a "merger" from both PBP painted as well as Kenner painted parts. So European and Asian elements combined into something unique and beautiful.
With my wife An originating from China, I suddenly understand why I love collecting loose PBP figures so much. .
All figures on the picture have the two line Hong Kong COO from Family 2 as indicated in the Tantive XI COO Guide..

Thanks for reading and for your help.

Questions for this thread which hopefully can be answered by others:
- Does this dark hair PBP variant also occur with other COOs?
- Apparently this variant also exists with pink hands. Kenners arms or PBP painted arms? Who can help with pictures?
Thanks for reading and for your help.

Marco, thank you for sharing these comparison pictures with us. How long were these Chocolate Brown hair variant Lukes available in the market. As for the Kenner release what was his original TESB card back?

Re: Early PBP ("Poch") Luke Farmboy with Brown Hair
Great write-up Marco! Clearly demonstrates the difference between the Poch guys and the Kenner.
Poch are really misunderstood so great to see you and the guys pumping out a lot of info on these recently. I actually didn't know a brown haired Poch FB existed until about six months ago....
That's a very intimate moment the fellas are sharing in the third photo btw.....

Hey Marco,
You've known this fig for long time and the story behind it . I bought it in France , and kept it for more than a year before wondering if it could be Poch . Wolff helped me saying a 3 lines coo brown hair is a good indication for a mosaic Poch . It has melt mark , pale hands , and brownish legs .
At the time , the discussion was on TIG , and I think someone else had the very same figure...

Beautiful pickup Bill!
Did you find this randomly yourself or was someone selling it labelled as a PBP/POCH already?

Re: Early PBP ("Poch") Luke Farmboy with Brown Hair
Sorry to necro an older thread, but acquired a Poch recently that I thought might be worth documenting with the others. It's a dark chocolate and has many of the normal Poch characteristics. The leg color is exactly the same as my other Poch Farmboys, it has the melt marks, mould mark on the head, sloppy paint, and is hung like a horse!
The unusual thing about him is his flesh paint. In one of the pics below, I have him side-by-side with a Kenner choco hair, for comparison. His skin tone is definitely more pale than the Kenner pink, but more pink than my other Poch's.

Re: Early PBP ("Poch") Luke Farmboy with Brown Hair
Great to see you posting here Steve! Love that Poch mate and in such beautiful condition.
I think it was Javi the other day who said that Poch rarely have the exact same characteristics so you'll always find some small differences. Hope I'm not misquoting him!

Re: Early PBP ("Poch") Luke Farmboy with Brown Hair
I believe you got the quote right Since then, I've done a lot more comparing and contrasting with other pics (which is how I wound up at this thread!). I'm still relatively new to the Poch world, but it's fascinating to see how often they're puzzles, but you just need 6 out of 8 pieces
Trying to get more organized about documenting the collection and sharing them out. And I've gotten SO much good information from this site! Happy to be able to contribute
