Gamorrean Guard Axe Help
so I have these three gg's . left to right hk coo , macau coo and ledy
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
heres their axes in the same order , hk , macau , ledy ,in both pictures . my better half got me the ledy axe this Christmas to complete my incomplete lily ledy figure.
after cgecking my other axes I noticed a few things .
the hk axe and ledy are rubbery , the macau is not . the ledy is darker and more detailed (I know it supposed to be)
the macau axe is very stiff .
my questions are do these look real to you ?
is the ledy supposed to be rubbery as well as the hk?
is the macau supposed to be this rigid?
any help ?????? thanks

Re: Gamorrean Guard Axe Help
Based upon the pictures Bill the axes look good to me (I supplied most of the replacement gammy axe pics for the TIG guide). The axe you've identified as Ledy looks correct. As a loose collector I can't confirm if the other two are matched correctly, but like Clint, I'll dig mine out so that I can check the flexibility for you.

I'll check tomorrow Bill (I'm just getting my daughter ready for bed). I believe that one of my axe variants felt more rigid than the others.

Re: Gamorrean Guard Axe Help
Hi Bill, I've checked my gammy axes, the ones I have like your varients are also flexible / stiff. Unfortunately I can't confirm whether the left (Hong Kong) example and middle (Macau) example are correct for those figures. It could be that the smooth bladed 'Macau' axe is made from a stiffer plastic, or could it be that the plastic has hardened over time? Hopefully we'll get a few members chime in with there findings.

Re: Gamorrean Guard Axe Help
I'm happy to help Bill, but as I said, hopefully others will chime in with their findings / opinions. It would be fantastic if a gammy moc collector could help out with which axes go with which figure variants (the same goes for all vintage accessory / figure variant combo's).

Re: Gamorrean Guard Axe Help
Bill, I just checked my. But because mine where all loose, there is no guarantee that they came with the correct axes.
My Macau axes are both flexible. The Ledy is flexible. The HK is really rigid. The 2 noo COO axes are flexible.
Like Steve said, it could boil down to a plastic mixture at the time, or just hardening over time?
I have 2 US 65B MOC's. The cut bubble MOC is a noo coo, but the axe is still taped in, and doesn't appear to be taken out. I'll try and take pictures tomorrow in the daylight.

Re: Gamorrean Guard Axe Help
This turned out to be really interesting
I’m probably going to make a similar post as I’ve just picked something up that TIG is unfortunately pretty vague on as well. (Not that TIG isn’t an amazing resource that I use probably weekly)
