SO , my best friend (his name is Drew) calls me today to ask me if im going to be home to sign for a package . i said yeah sure why . he says be on the lookout .

Ok so we talk for a while on the phone and i think nothing of it as we get each other stuff all the time . we've been brothers since 1982 yep 35 years .

i got hurt at work last year and need a second surgery on my left shoulder and it hasnt been easy although my work is paying for it . so he says as i press him for info "dont worry about it , its just a little pre op present . i know youve had a tough time for a year . cool once again i let it go ...

my mailman shows up no package... no biggie (i think)

anyways my wife says "the mailmans back" she signs for the package and i open it and my jaw hits the ground . a burgundy cape bib fortuna he won on ebay for me . of course i call him and tell him i cant accept this and he says , its yours brother enjoy .

now i know thgis is a very heavily faked item out there and one i never thought id own . there are some questions i have but i have to say it looks 100% legit .

i wanted to let everyone see the bib to maybe help authenticate him but also to tell this story because honestly im in shock . if hes real i will have him graded because the cape is super fragile .
it will be my ONLY graded figure as you all have seen what i do to figures i get that are graded.

im very lucky to have a friend that truly is my brother for one thing and it will always be a reminder of how lucky i am to have people like this in my life . ive done alot for him with no intention of ever being "repayed " in any way shape or form . he wasnt hearing of my pleas to return it ... thanks drew my brother ... YOU RULE...

Bill, it's really hard to tell.

Until a real expert has it it there hands to compare with the real thing.

Man, after reading that it just seems like the chances are slim to none.

I suppose there have to be some that have been in private collections since well before 2004, but proving that would be difficult.

The great thing about this community is that the most advanced experts available would probably be happy to examine it.

the cape pictures were taken in natural light the figure pictures in unnnatural light .
i have read ozios thread on him and have to say mine doesnt match any of those repros .
i will take more pictures if necessary . the stitches inside my cape are not red . under where bibs tentacle is on his back a tiny bit of the red fluff remains . the fabric is unlike any i own . any help would be appreciated . when the sun comes up i'll take a picture of the complete figure in natural light . on a side note mine looks exactly like wolffs on his sight . i sure hope hes real ... if not i will send him to my friend back to seller for a refund .

Marco has a real Red Bib also

well ive just gotten confirmation from 2 people i know that own this variant that it is 100% real . also Bryan over at tig said that it looks legit and i know he has a complete ledy run

now on to hearing from Marco ..

I don't know enough about the repro capes & I'm not sure about mine, so I don't think I'll be much help.  But here are some pictures of the one I have.  The stitching on mine looks reddish in the light tent, but looks brown in the natural light?

Your friend still did a great thing, trying to get a super figure like that.

I have no experience with the Ledy capes so I am of no help unfortunately .

I do know that there are more fakes then genuine Burgundy Coats . You really need to have Ozio take a look - have you tried contacting him ?

Andy, It's possible. If you ever find a beater cape that's stained or in rough shape. You just use a solution to remove any colour from the cape, and dunk it into a fabric dye. That's how I made the black capes for Squid Head.

well i took some peoples advice and contacted Ozio , he will verify it for me either way . his word is fact so off to mexico it goes . i'll keep everyone posted either way !!!

If Ozio saw your pics and still needs to see it in person , I would think that's a good sign
