My loose meccano set

hi guys , just figured with the completion of my loose meccano run i'd do a limelight on them .

(i also own the no coo yoda but after resaerching him i dont think he was exclusive to the french run of figures)

ive trid to get better at picture taking thanks to james  still not the best although im happy with them .

i also wanted to show or explain their traits exclusive to meccano .. enjoy , thanks for looking

I'm glad you explained the differences.

Most informative. More detail than one usually gets in such a post.

I'm not sure if I can go down that rabbit hole of Meccano collecting lol I understand the appeal of the carded stuff but there are so few examples at such high prices.

My favourite variation is probably the tie pilot, you can tell the difference at a quick glance I am now generally more informed lol 1up

Chris .. yeah the meccanos were almost an afterthought because there differences are really subtle . definitely an acquired taste

the death star droid did me in as he was my first and lets be honest there aren't too many variants on him .. I love that droid  

very fun to track down

I have a question about the meccano figures/variants.
Called they meccano, because they are relaesed only on French Tri-Logo (Meccano) Cards ??? Made the figures all in Macau?

yes exclusive to the french market , only the biker has the made in macau coo . the others were explained how to identify . cheers guys

Its weird seeing Meccano products still for sale here in Canada lol their little robot sets and stuff seemed old to me as a kid.

Bill, is there a favourite place you go to where can I learn a little more about Meccano variants online? I know there’s Stephane’s Books Meccano to Trilogo and The French Touch in print, but I wanted to dip my hand in before shelling out if I can. Thanks in advance.

thanks Jay and Ian , unfortunately at the time steve passed away he was speaking to a known variiant collector and my boba might be a fake!!! ive been searching around in old threads jay on various collectors forums . to be honest i aquired alot of info just from interacting with the peaople who owned these before me .
if boba is a fake which i tend to believe now after some research id really like to find a real one . im crushed about it and of course id love to talk to steve about it but i havent been the same in the star wars world since his passing either

on a happier note the others are 100% legit

Thanks Bill. Yes Steve’s passing was a big shock. I can’t claim to have known him, but I realise he meant a great deal to many people on TXI. What Alex is doing on Jabba’s Palace is awesome for Beth. I thought I hadn’t seen you post so much on the various forums. I hope you get your Star Wars mojo back.
