The "WHAT IF..." series
Hi guys,
Im new in the forum., I have been working in a project I have been wanting to do for several years, I have been posting the progress on facebook since February with great response, but I want to share it with you here.
We have dreamed for near to 40 years with the vintage figures, and at least for 31 years about what would have been if Kenner havent cancelled the vintage original classic line. They didnt even gave us a proper POTF catalogue booklet... there was no time, cancelation was upon their heads.
So I have been reuniting the best custom figures I have seen ( and that I have been able to buy) through the years of never released figures, from the best customizers I have been able to meet, as Ryan and Nik, and I have made several others, not as good as theirs, to create these renders of a potential "what if..." in the style of the classic Kenner Booklet Catalogues.
Some of you may believe this is a customs project, I see it more in the way of a alternate future in which the collection would have been alive until our days.
This is an ongoing project under development, more pages will be added in the near future. Latelly a lot of incredible talent has surfaced in the web so if you are a customizer, and have a great figure, and would want your figure appears in the next renders just contact me, I will be most than happy to include it.
Hope you like it.
If you want to learn more about this project, I have uploaded the images in my web page with a deeper explanation on the project and a few more images.

Re: The "WHAT IF..." series
I try to update the project in a montly installment basis, so the time for the next page is here.
Here are the new page of the project and the composition with page 7.
For this installment, I was lucky to recieve the contribution of Miss Alice Favreau from France. She created a fantastic Ewok Youngling, with 4 Points of articulation, sculpted in classic vintage style. This figure is really nice and deserve a place of honor in the What if Series. We painted the white casted figure and named it MOOKIEE
There is more information available in the web site about the project and prior installments.

Here is something I did with the new VINTAGE STUDIO sandtroopers:
"THESE BLAST POINTS, TOO ACCURATE FOR SAND PEOPLE. ONLY IMPERIAL STORMTROOPERS ARE SO PRECISE."

Is that a scan of the POTF2 Jabba's Palace 3D pop-up diorama set? I know that's the source, just curious if it's been glued to a custom base or otherwise cut from the original diorama.

Yes it is a scan of that pop up diorama, buy resized, It was printed on adhesive vinyl and incorporated to a plastic back wall that fits in a groove carved in the main base.
Re: The "WHAT IF..." series
I ended a new sandtroopers strip, this could be considered the first episode of the Vintage Studio sandtroopers story:

Re: The "WHAT IF..." series
Arturo, thanks for posting them. It must take a lot of work setting up each of the scenes.

Well, you are right, it is a lot of work, but absolutelly reconforting.
It is very nice to see and feel how somethings change as we grow up and grow old... but others remain. 43 years old and I still have fun playing with my old friends from childhood.
I made something new for the new character in my project (soon will be available for eberyone) , here you have a aglimpse
