Anyone Use Star Wars Tracker?
I've thought about paying for this service but since I'm not really pursuing a lot of MOCs now so I think it would be more of an entertainment expense for me.
Just curious if anyone uses it and how useful it is, and what the interface is like.

Re: Anyone Use Star Wars Tracker?
I've looked at it, but I've never used it. I completed my loose collection years ago. It looks like a great resource for loose, MOC's, ships & boxed items. I don't actively collect MOC's, unless the deals fall into my lap.

I might have to see if I can narrow the fields down to looking at Canadian items.

Re: Anyone Use Star Wars Tracker?
I wouldn't be surprised if the search options were at least that extensive in the paid version. Just hard to justify a monthly subscription to something like that. Although you could potentially save a lot of money if you're actively buying semi expensive items.

How much is the membership on their site?

Whoaaaaa lol I thought it was like 10 or 15. I believe I'll be signing up. I don't know where I got that idea.
Re: Anyone Use Star Wars Tracker?
I use it. Very handy as an accurate pricing guide. Also good to know quantities of items sold in the last year. There is a feature to track your own collection but that is limited - hopefully the app will be better.

I know you guys use it for the podcast in the market watch section. Is there a new app coming out?

Awesome. You'll have to keep us updated when it comes out, and the new features.

Re: Anyone Use Star Wars Tracker?
Hi All,
I run Star Wars Tracker. Here's a couple of screenshots to give you an idea of what's available in the desktop application after signing up for access. You can filter the price guides with a few options (licensee, graded, sale location etc). All the prices are from real world market data, and updated each weekend so it's about as accurate as a price guide can ever be.

Here's a screenshot of the portfolio area. You can run valuations against your portfolios to get an instant mark-to-market valuation of your collection. You can also generate display labels for your loose figures and MOC. I consulted with Iain Sanderson recently on this piece of work so the labels will work perfectly with his display stands and cases: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

As mentioned already, you get a free trial of a month to see if it works out for you, and then payments will start. Best value is to sign up for a year US$30, or you can go month-to-month for $5 (couple of options in between too). You can cancel anytime and any future payments stop.
If you are doing a lot of collecting (buying), then something like this really is handy. I built the system a few years ago to help put together a set of POTF coins in the best way possible (guiding my buying decisions). The subscription cost more than makes up for itself in helping to negotiate better deals that you otherwise might just pay.
At the moment I don't buy so much, but it's fun to get the weekly market updates to see what's been hot in the market, and the automated weekly valuation of my portfolios.
Any other questions, let me know. Cheers, Jared.

Oh, and yes I put the call out for some keen iPhone beta testers this weekend. So all the above functionality will be available from your mobile. Android will follow afterwards.

Totally. Things change pretty quickly in the market (though usually just in the upwards direction). I have been selling off a few doubles and spares of late and it's such a time saver to lookup a range of pricing over the last 6 months in a few clicks, and price accordingly.

I'm not really buying lately so I don't use it. However I've heard nothing but good things about it, especially on the Vintage Rebellion podcast. Plus Jared is an a-grade bloke

I agree - met Jared at Celebration and top bloke to talk with and he is very passionate about this
He and I have been looking at ways that you can use the site to make you own 'grading' labels - or at least print off info about the peice and stick it on your own (Plug- GW Acrylic) case - saves you the hassle and worry of sending it through the post and also paying for someone else's opinion

Will do Christian - hopefully Jared can post up the pictures and he has some nice ones for the labels and what they look like on the cases
