Wow, I can't believe this. I didn't even know he was sick. David Bowie dies of cancer at age 69. Huge legend.
Just the other day, I said to my wife that someone else was going to die within a few days. Lemmy was first, and although I didn't care for her music, Natalie Cole died a couple of days later. These things always happen in threes. I didn't expect this one though. Dammit.

Wow that is sad news
What's really weird is Paladia played a Ziggy Stardust concert a couple nights ago and we DVR'ed it and then watched it today

Re: RIP David Bowie
I was very saddened to hear today, of the untimely passing of David bowie
apparently he had been suffering with cancer for the last 18 months, but kept this news private.
The man is an absolute legend and will be sorely missed

Re: RIP David Bowie
I think all rock legends should beware of releasing a new album, especially if it's near their birthday, for the foreseeable future.
Motorhead's new album was only a couple of months old, and Lemmy died days after his birthday. Bowie's new album was released last Friday, same day as his birthday, and here we are two days later (technically he died Sunday).

It's got to that point now we're this is going to happen consistently to such a huge group of iconic rock legends, like the Blues and Jazz guys before them.
The Stones, Alice Cooper, Sabbath, Led, Aerosmith........ then the next group of GN'R, Metallica, Crue, Leppard ........ none of these guys are spring chickens and the heavy drink and drugs use does catch up. After those guys I can't see too many people crying over the teenage wank bands we've had since the mid 90s.
