Guns n Roses pre-TFA Tease

Anyone who's been following the GN'R reunion drama since June knows how frustrating the whole scene has been. Hell, following GN'R since '94 has been painful. Anyway, has anyone seen this trailer? no leaks yet I can find.

I haven't seen it myself, but I'll certainly be keeping my eyes open.

It's been confirmed today that Slash & Duff will be joining Axl for two shows at Coachella in April. No news yet regarding Izzy or Steven.

Sounds like it will cost you an arm & a leg to see them. Hopefully some vids on youtube will show up, as that will probably be the only way I will be able to see them.

Tickets should be something between 200-250$ as I have heard

Unless they come to the UK at some point, youtube vids will be the only way I will see them too. I would imagine that there will be an official video made to mark (& cash in) on the occasion.

I found the teaser shown in cinemas that Ian mentioned above. All 15 seconds of it.

If they can manage two shows together the chances are high that they will do a tour, they could pretty much name there price and the tour would sell out regardless..... in the words of John Connor "Easy Money"

That said, working with Axl certainly wouldn't be an easy day at work!

Until they announce U.K. tour dates I'm going to post a classic G N' R gig moment ever damn day!!!!

Paradise City - Great Western Forum - Inglewood CA - U.S.A - 03.08.91

They had arrived back L.A. after the first major part of the Illusions Get in the ring tour in the U.S., the tour had already had it's ups and downs (the riot gig for example) They where on a general high, back in L.A. about to drop the albums, about to tour Europe, just generally in a good mood. They played 4 nights at the Great Western Forum, this was the last song of the last night, they arrived on stage typically late at midnight and played until 4 in the morning, the longest G N' R gig in history, 27 full songs and all the usual solos and additional, this version of Paradise City is 15 minutes long it self!

Allegedly the band will get $3 million for each show at Coachella. Like you said Alex 'Easy Money'.

There will be some warm up shows and then likely to be a US tour. Largely though in recent years GNR's fanbase has been in Europe and South America. There have been rumours on June dates in Germany for months. I'm expecting Sept/Oct European tour. I know Slash is contracted for another album with Myles but that would fit in surely if the $ talk.

I've seen GN'R multiple times and in many incarnations. Axl's voice (like many other rock stars) sounds awful on youtube but when you see him live it is usually nigh on right. 2010 he had a great voice. 2006 and 2014 wasn't as strong but still hitting high notes and most power notes.

My best memory is Gateshead '93. A guy threw a paper cup at Duff who took to the mic and called the guy on stage so that he could beat his ass. The guy tried damn hard to get on stage but security wouldn't let him. Slash announced that we shouldn't mind Duff as he "hadn't had a drink for 2 weeks" which Duff laughed at.

They better come over here!!!

Gateshead was '92 chief 16th of June, the only U.K. gigs they did in '93 where the two shows at the Milton Keynes National Bowl.

And they still haven't announced a U.K. date, so tonight's song choice is.....

Sweet Child O' Mine - Perkins Palace - Pasadena CA - U.S.A - 30.12.87

Common song, but classic recording! They played night's at Perkin's Palace at the end of December '87 and they all sold out so they added a 4th show. My main reason for loving G N' R is Slash! Best improvisation guitarist on Earth, most bands stick to the run of the mill album solo's when they play live, Slash really didn't and delivered something unique pretty much every night, sometimes he was really in the zone and just played awesome all night, other times not so well, but that's just the way it is
Anyway, this night he was on form and played some amazing solo's. Sweet Child O' Mine is one the handful of songs where he kept the solo pretty much as it is on the album which is why I picked this show and this song, because this is still the only performance of this song where Slash deviates from the album version and plays something unique in the main solo, well the last half of it
Fred Curry of Cinderella plays drum's at this gig because Steve had a broken arm....

Patience at the Milton Keynes Bowl (UK) May 30th '93. I was there with my first longterm girlfriend & this song meant a lot to us, so seeing it performed live was very special as the lyrics had a lot of relevance to our situation at the time..

Perhaps if the reformed Gn'R do come to the UK some of us could meet up?

Patience - CBGB's - New York NY - U.S.A - 30.10.87

An awesome acoustic gig at the New York CBGB's where they basically test run the acoustic songs for G N' R Lies, this gig features the earliest known recordings of these songs (apart from You're Crazy) in the case of Patience he says "we've played song twice and I've sung it once" he even has too "read the fucking words" which he actually does, I have a DVD of the whole gig which also includes them signing autographs after the show, someone hands them a sealed copy of Live Like A Suicide and every band member signs it.... Wonder if it's still out there ??????

A great version of patience, but doesn't Slash hit a really bad note about half way through? They sound pretty wasted during that gig

I think they were Chris. Still a classsic early performance though.

It's also one of only two gigs that feature One In A Million live, the other was also in New York at a place called the Limelight, it's a real random gig, more like a jam session than anything else. I do have a real good quality Demo of One In A Million though produced by Mike Clink himself, Slash plays a blinder of a solo on that

I'm sure that it is. I've got a sealed copy of that EP, I've been so tempted to open it to check that it 100% legit, but I have resisted.

Coma - Tokyo Dome - Tokyo - Japan - 19.02.92

For me Coma is a genius piece of music, if your gonna write a 10 minute song you need to know what you're doing, and this works perfectly for me, well structured well written, Metallica could learn from this song!!!
This is from the Tokyo shows, they played three nights, the third of which was used for the Use Your Illusion DVD's. They where clearly experimenting every night to pick the best night for the DVD, this was from the first night and they opened the set with Coma, that's a hell of way to start a set!!!
