Re: Meet the Members! Introduce yourselves here!
Hi everyone, My name is Chuck. My family has always liked Star Wars but didn't get all into the the "collecting" side. We seemed to always end up with some pic ( Have 2 with our son as a stormtrooper at different ages), shirt or something that was SW related. Over the past summer we took a 2 week trip to Walt Disney World, just happened to be during their Star Wars Weekends Event. So after 2 weekends of non stop Star Wars, our son was hooked.
After we got home, he asked if he could collect Star Wars. I thought this would be fun to do together. At that point, I didn't realize how much "SW" stuff we already had( Nothing in the "Vintage" category though). For the last few months , we have been hitting up the antique stores and flea markets that we come across, to see what we can find. We found a few pieces, nothing vintage. Slim pickings around here locally. I did get a Darth Vader case with 40 loose figures( No accessories) from a guy at work. It was fun to check out each figure and see what they were missing with my son. For Christmas, I have been trying to find a few vintage pieces along with the new stuff for him. After the first of the year, we will be trying to find the accessories to complete the figures we have. This sure makes me wish I would kept all the SW stuff I had as a kid. Hope you guys don't mind a new collector!!!
Thanks for allowing me to join and gain from your knowledge.

Welcome chuck. Check the sales section on the forum to see what is listed. Also James (ourchickenshack) is a fantastic seller and usually has a decent selection to pick from. Some vintage figures can run pretty high, but for a new collector you don't have to get those until you really want to broaden the collection out. Since this is a venture for your son, I assume they will be to play with as much to look at so they don't have to be super mint and you can usually save some money buying figures in a bit lesser condition. If they are for display, I recommend not buying afa graded and sourcing loose figures and then using either stands or acrylic cases to put them in. I think Iain is on here and he works as a distributor for an acrylic case company that makes fantastic cases. His username is itfciain.

Thanks for the welcome. Most will be displayed- vintage anyways. My son likes to keep the ones he likes or had a hard time finding displayed. He has several of the skylanders figures still in the package from the first game because they were hard to find or his favorite.
On the vintage, I figure we will have to go with loose- won't be able to afford the MOC's.

Chopper and Chuck
Say Chopper , you catch any nice fish lately ?
I just showed my wife the picture of the 3 man long Arapaima you caught
We need a fishing thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I doubt any of us catch the monsters you do but there are at least a few fishermen here that I know of

Re: Meet the Members! Introduce yourselves here!
Hello again, was posting from my phone before so thought I'd introduce myself properly
I've been collecting vintage Star Wars since last year. I did have a full loose collection a few years back but had to sell but started again (thanks to the encouragement of a very cool girlfriend) and feel my collection is better than it was before, and here to stay this time!
I completed my loose vintage figure collection in just under a year (almost). Just want a couple of the high end variants. I will get a VCJ next year!
I've started a Zuckuss focus, or fockuss as I call it as he was the first figure I owned when I was a kid and have quite a few pieces already, just feel I need a few carded ones to really show it off.
Currently collecting the ships, mini rigs and creatures at the moment. Just completed all five sets of the Topps Star Wars trading cards, including the infamous C-3PO boner card.

Mark, and good luck following Alice down the rabbit hole.
Congrats on the 5 sets of Topps SW trading cards & the boner card. Have you got started on the ESB & ROTJ? Then of course you know about the UK Topps cards, Canadian OPC cards with the unique error card "Ken Kenobi", Italian, Greek, Wonder Bread, Hershey, stickers, fold out pamphlets, etc.....

Greetings from Holland
Hi guys, let me do a quick introduction of myself, my name is Marko and I am from Holland. I have collected the vintage range when I was a kid waaaaaaaayyy back But then, like a lot of us, I moved out of my parents house and gave/sold
A few months ago, I came across a youtube video from a guy who called himself Toy Poloi, he restored a vintage AT-ST to almost mint condition. I thought, well I can do that, and since then I have a habbit of restoring the old vintage vehicles. Maybe I will start to collect the figures again one day, but for now, it's just the ships/ vehicles.
You can check out my progress via the link in my signature.
