A few days ago I was sitting on my back porch and saw this little guy walking across my backyard ...

I believe it is a baby Mallard Duck . The really weird thing is I have no idea how it would have gotten into our backyard . The closest pond to our house is about 2 to 3 miles away scratch

I had serious thoughts of trying to raise it but decided it was better to take it to a pond so it could grow up with other ducks .

While at a client's house yesterday, meeting with potential contractors for a renovation/addition.

They have had a new pet around the house all winter. Apparently it showed up last fall, and hasn't left.

They aren't a local species, but are apparently becoming more common all the way from Windsor/Detroit all the way up to the Muskoka area.
They must be fairly hearty to survive the cold temps.
