Intruder Alert!!!!!!!!!

Intruder Alert!!!!!!!!!
We had an intruder alert this morning, in our back yard.
Growing up on the farm, I know what a normal raccoon is supposed to act like, and this wasn't it.
This fellow was either sick or had been hit by a car. It was not acting normal. Animal control just left with it.

Great pics Clint
Poor little fella certainly wasn't behaving right so calling animal control was certainly the right thing to do .

Re: Intruder Alert!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys. Sorry for the late reply. I've been at the farm since 11 am this morning. I had to help out, with baling hay all afternoon & till about 6.30 pm. Then eat & then 1 1/2 hr drive home.
I'm pretty sure that animal control would have put it down after it left here. If it was sick, they couldn't let it go. If it had been hit by a car, they couldn't let it go.
It was just odd to have it in our back yard. It shouldn't have been out and about, at that time of day. Also a normal raccoon would have avoided our yard all together, because of our dogs & the dog smell.
James, it definitely didn't act like the one from your gif. If it acted like that, I wouldn't have bothered calling animal control. I would have just scared it out of the yard myself.
Steve, I'm glad Beth will enjoy the pictures. Do they have raccoons in the UK?

No, we don't have racoons here. We have some small populations of beavers which have been reintroduced in recent years following there extinction in the 16th century. There is also an ongoing debate about whether European Wolves should be reintroduced to some remote parts of Scotland.

What a beautiful animal!
According to Wikipedia raccoons are also present in The Netherlands as exotic animal.
I have never seen one in the wild though. And the chance of ever seeing one in my back yard is close to zero.

You need to visit North America then. A recent report stated that in the wild, there is a raccoon population density of 10-15 per sq km. In the city of Toronto, I've heard there are as many as 40-50 per sq km. It's also reported that Toronto is the raccoon capital of the world.

That's awesome. Hopefully they have some at a close by zoo, so Beth can see one up close.
