UNLICENSED KEYCHAINS
Unlicensed Keychains - Most likely produced during the Return Of The Jedi era
Click on any of the photos below for full size image :
These keychains consisted of 5 plastic cards (about the thickness of a standard credit card) that had artwork on both sides . The cards fanned out so that you could see a total of 10 different scenes (5 on each side) from the original trilogy . The images are pretty poor quality and the only marking I found was "Taiwan ROC" (on the 1st example shown) so I am fairly confident that these were not a official Lucas licensed product .
Taiwan ROC
Each plastic card measures : 1 5/8 " x 3 "
Emperor Side :

No Country or Manufacturer Markings at all :
This one was purchased in the plastic bag shown but we're unsure if it is the original package or if these keychains even came in a package originally .

UNLICENSED STAR WARS BOOTLEG KEYCHAINS
Unlicensed Star Wars Bootleg Keychains (circa late 70s early 80s)
[700][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/700]
I can confirm from my two of my collecting peers from SWFUK , that they remember having some of these in the early 80s and even showed me some pictures .
I own 2 of these trades cards which I bought in 1 lot . The figures are made of crude PVC plastic and are 2 inches high . Both trade cards I have feature the exact same combination of figures and line up .
How they survived intact for so long is a mystery . The person I bought them from was selling on behalf of a friend who cleared a closed down tobacconist/sweet shop - these were found in years worth of storage .

Re: KEYCHAINS
Chris, thanks for adding them here. Those are some great bootleg key chains. Like you said, it's a wonder how they stayed intact and on the paper card holder for so long.

KEYCHAINS & MAGNETS
They're awesome Chris! I didn't really appreciate non-figure items until reading through the threads on this forum. So many collecting options...
Re: KEYCHAINS
I got lucky and found a R2 Keychain like the unlicensed batch that Chris (poncho) posted earlier in this thread
[700][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/700]
In addition , although the keychain loop is broken , I found a silver version of the exact same keychain mold

I also split the Keychains and Magnets posts from where they were originally posted in the Jewelry Thread - just getting too many items and it will make organizing them later easier ...

Re: KEYCHAINS
No idea what the history on these keychains is but I really like them
I am guessing they are probably unlicensed bootlegs of some sort but have no idea if they're even "vintage" .
Actual Size : 1 3/4 " to 2 1/4 " tall

Nice additions James. What would you attribute to the different chain/keyrings? Maybe different production runs, and sourced different chain suppliers?

Could be either - it doesn't seem like Factors was too worried about slight differences in the materials they used .
