Nestle Candy Bars

In 1979 Nestle Chocolate Bars partnered with Weingeroff Ent. / Factors Etc. Inc. and offered promotional Star Wars pendants via a mail in offer . You could send in 10 candy bar wrappers for a free pendant or 5 wrappers and $2 for a pendant - the choices were C-3PO , Chewbacca , Darth Vader or R2-D2  .

The Nestle offer pendants came in individual unmarked sealed plastic bags with a " Thank You " card from Nestle . They were mailed in a plain brown padded envelope .

There were several different ways these pendants could be purchased at retail / department stores . The pendants on this store display came with the bags and tags shown after :

At some point the Star Wars Logo changed styles and it would seem that all 6 necklaces can be found with either "logo style" on the bags and tags .

It appears that the Stormtrooper and X-Wing Fighter pendants were a later addition to the collection since they are not present in most of the advertisements / offers . This helps explain why they tend to be a little harder to find then the others .

Most of the Factors Jewelry seems to have been available with 2 different Star Wars logos but , so far we have only been able to verify that the Clip On Earrings were released with the first Star Wars logo packages . They very well could have been released with both styles of the logo but we have no visual proof yet .

UNLICENSED NECKLACE ???

This necklace does not have any Lucas Film licensing markings at all , just a SC on the clasp . We have to assume that it is a unlicensed product but will keep trying to research and find out more .
