What's in your movie or tv playlist?

If you have seen any new, old, fun, freaky, scary or whatever movies or tv shows lately you'd like to mention, feel free to share!
I always love hearing what folks are watching to inspire me to add something to my playlist that either I have never seen or has been waaaaaaaayyyyy to long since I have.

I'll start with a little SW related fun............

Just a fun movie... and I had to actually buy the bluray this time to get the extras and nice clean copy.
Just one of those have to watch once a year or so flicks.

Same creators as REPO MAN but I enjoyed THE DEVILS CARNIVAL quite a bit more


I bring it up because the sequel is on tour now ...

If you guy's have access to Netflix and aren't already watching it , I highly recommend the new series DAREDEVIL

It is a "Netflix Original Series" so I doubt there is another way to see it currently


I think it is very well written and acted overall but , one of the biggest highlights , is  Vincent D'Onofrio  as Wilson Fisk (AKA : The Kingpin)

I agree with James.   This was a great series.  I can't wait for season 2.

This is not your usual Marvel show.  It's very dark & intense.

It is very dark and reminds me of the era that Frank Miller wrote and drew the Daredevil comic book series

I was a big Daredevil fan and still think that Frank Miller's issues were some of the best written (and drawn) stories in all of comic book history

Good call on Daredevil! I watched it and really liked it. I hope they pick it up for another season or two........

As far as the Devil's Carnival sequel... I will definitely watch that!
And you know I LOVED Repo, the Genetic Opera! Such a weird and odd and awesome flick. I need that back in my playlist! Its been a while since I've seen it!

And did anyone watch the new Mad Max?

Daredevil is next on my list!

Just finished watching the second season of Arrow. Was fantastic! Persevered through the first season (aka Beverley Hill 90210) because I heard the second season was great. The main guest characters were Deathstroke and the Canary, but also had appearances by the Suicide Squad and a few other comic characters I like. Definitely recommend the show.

Also watching a cool series called 'The Affair' - mainly about the nature of marriage, love, relationships etc. Bit of a more mature tv show....

The last movie I watched was 'The Lobster' with Colin Farrell. Sci-fi dystopian type movie but it was more intellectual rather than an action themed sci-fi film. Highly recommend it!

There's a new Netflix series called Jessica Jones , which is based on another Hell's Kitchen character from Marvel comics . I haven't had time to sit and watch it yet but I'm hoping it's good

Hey James I did! Really loved it! Really edgy and I love the guy who plays him. I stupidly didn't realise though until right near the end that Wilson Fisk was meant to be the Kingpin....I'll start the second series soon.

I've downloaded Jessica Jones so will watch soon. I watched Fear of the Walking Dead. Not great but better than I thought it would be. I'm a few episodes into the first season of Flash. It's good but it hasn't grabbed me like Daredevil.

I loved it too so it's good to know that I'm not the only one - sometimes I worry about my taste in movies and TV

I was a huge fan of the Daredevil comics growing up so I knew Fisk was The Kingpin but , I didn't realize until late in the TV series that the actor who plays him was the same guy who played Pyle in Full Metal Jacket   His portrayal of Fisk was fantastic and it's what really sold me on the series

I watched Fear of The Walking Dead and liked it okay but it didn't hold the appeal that the original series does for my wife and I - we literally count down the days , hours and minutes until the next episode airs

Which series do you like better - Green Arrow or The Flash ?

I haven't watched either yet but have seriously been thinking about trying at least one of them out . I am generally not a big fan of DC comic characters and was always a Marvel boy growing up

Fear The Walking Dead suffers from the same issue as the Star Wars PT. The hype was too high, and the end result wasn't what people were expecting, resulting in negative reviews for a show that wasn't bad at all.

Right now, I'm trying to find time to sit down and watch Green Inferno.

The only issue I had with Fear of The Walking Dead was that I couldn't connect with a character . The writing , acting and effects we're all pretty good but none of the characters we're very likable . I did like the kid with the steak knife (can't remember his name ) but he wasn't in it very much .

Still a good series though

The flash is ok, the green arrow I couldn't get into. Both are campy feeling at times so have an adam west batman slow and bizarre feeling at times. Not anything near as bad as the adam west batman but still feel that way. Since I grew up on that batman I think both are ok, but not exactly the best thing on TV. I did not know that there was a daredevil series. I need to find this. Has it come out on video yet or is it just a satellite/Netflix type of thing? As a huge comic fan I will at least make an attempt to watch anything comic series related. Haven't caught the other marvel spin off either yet (shield or agents of shield). I used to read the daredevil comics and still have the fall from grace series (think that was the name) where daredevil takes kingpin down and he basically starts all over from the ground floor as a bad guy. Never heard of Jessica Jones (or don't remember hearing of her).

Wow didn't realise he was in Full Metal Jacket! I only remember him from that detective show and from Men In Black. I've read a bunch of comics where Kingpin appeared so I should have known.....

Hard to say which is better yet as I've only watched five episodes of The Flash. The first season of Arrow was crap and took me a year to watch but the second one was awesome and I flew through it in days.

Do you read the Walking Dead comics? They f*cking amazing. Ten times better than the series.

You just hit the nail on the head for me. I didn't really like any of the main characters.

I smashed through the remainder of The Flash S1 and it was awesome! Great story and character development. Super fast paced too.

Lots of tie ins with the DC universe and loads of cross-overs with The Arrow. The thing is though that the cross-overs contained spoilers from Arrow S3 and I've only watched the first two seasons.

Jessica Jones is next!

Finally watched TFA last night. Not a perfect movie but I felt five years old again....

currently working my way through season 1 of the Flash, Arrow and Jessica Jones.
Struggling with Flash and Arrow, but Jessica Jones is by far my favourite (after Daredevil and agents of shield).
I'm hoping season 2 of Arrow will be better

Glad to know you think highly of Jessica Jones - I haven't watched it yet but have been looking forward to it , now I know it will live up to my expectations

Yeah trust me Chris Arrow S2 is ten times better than the first season. Flash is a bit of a slow burn at the start but it really kicks into gear about mid-season.

I watched the first season of Jessica Jones last night and it's pretty cool. Doesn't have that superhero feel but the dialogue and acting is great. The lead actress is excellent.

Walking Dead, The Flash, Agents of SHIELD and Supergirl are my main weekly shows I watch. Agent Carter and DCs Legends of Tomorrow will be added to that list when they start in January.

Shows I watch on Netflix and love are Daredevil, Hell on Wheels, and Archer. Working my way through Narcos. It's pretty good. Also working through Jessica Jones. It's the first Marvel TV effort I'm not in love with so far. Maybe as It gets going I'll get more involved with it.

For Christmas my wife got me the complete series of The Incredible Hulk on DVD. LOVE this old show. Bill Bixby played the perfect Dr. Banner.

My wife and I are watching a couple of episodes a week of The Six Million Dollar Man. We bought the complete series a couple of years ago. We're also working out way through CHIPS and Soap. Oh and WKRP in Cincinnati season 1.

It goes without saying that I am a huge Walking Dead fan (Julie is just as big a fan too ) and Daredevil is by far my favorite recent comic related series

We love the classics too like WKRP as well and just watched the entire Soap series on Netflix a year or so ago

We have been working our way through The Incredible Hulk series (and the Munsters ) on Netflix recently too

I also bought the Land of The Lost and Planet of The Apes TV series on DVD a year or so ago and have watched both twice

Anyone watching DCs Legends of Tomorrow yet? I've watched four episodes. It's kinda b-grade but it's pretty watchable, particularly if like me you are watching The Arrow and The Flash.

I watched the first two episodes of Mr Robot and it is brilliant so far!!!!

DareDevil season 2 was just announced on Netflix a few minutes ago & starts March 18th.
