Gene Day Portfolio - Information Please!

I am looking for information about this publication.
It is called "Star Wars: A collection of ten prints by Gene Day"
It was published by Aardvark - Vanaheim Press in Canada in 1977 for $8.00

Now - the info I have gotten so far (allegedly) is that this was an UNAUTHORIZED publication, and 20th Century Fox shut it down after only a few copies were out there.
Gene day was an illustrator for some of the vintage Marvel Star Wars comics.
I am trying to find out just how rare this item is, and how much it might be worth.
My copy is Signed by Gene Day and is #2 of 250.

Any Information would be helpful.

Surely that's the same Aardvark-Vanaheim press that was started in Kitchener, Ontario around that same time, primarily known for publishing the first run of "Cerebus".

I've never heard of this collection before. I'm located just outside of Kitchener, ON., and according to the blog, that's where these came from. I will have to look into it some more for sure.

We were neighbors Commander Clint - I was born and raised in Stratford, Ontario until I married a girl and moved to Nebraska 2 years ago.
I am pretty sure i bought this in Kitchener in 1977 - 1978.
I am coming home to visit family in July and hope a sale of this will help pay for it.
Just dont want to charge to little or too much.

I recall seeing this portfolio many years ago. It was rumoured that David Sim, a Canadian artist, had sold these prints in an effort to finance his then fledgling comic book project Cerebus the Aardvark. This was around the time after Star Wars hit in 1977. I see the link above shows the cease and desist letter from 20th Century Fox Canada. I seem to recall seeing these prints published in another fanzine or magazine, but I can't recall which one(s) off the top of my head. I'll take a look at my old magazines and see if I can find them. Hope that helps.

The one Ebay link is listed at $500 in the original post. But it doens't say what it sold for. The other Ebay link doesn't work.
I asked Scott, and he thinks they would possibly be in the $75- $100 range. I really don't have a clue what they would be worth on the open market.

I will have to look around some more. I'll see if they are listed over on the SWCA.

I didn't find much on Gene Day listed on the SWCA.
Just one page from when he worked at Marvel.

The price on stuff like this is really tricky because it is rare and probably doesn't come up for sell very often . I try to hunt down unusual items to post pics of them in our library here but I don't keep a whole lot of stuff for my personal collections due to lack of space . I sell quite a bit of the oddities on ebay but many items are so uncommon that no current listings or recent sales are available to judge the "vaule" of them . I tend to list high with a buy it now or make best offer option - if someone wants it bad enough it will sell . If it doesn't sell then buyers "best offers" will help you get a idea of what it is worth .

You can probably contact him thru the web site or FB.  I've emailed them before asking a question about an auction item, that I purchased from them.  It wasn't Stephen that answered, but one of his assistance. But you should get a reply.
