RIP METE AKIN
Guys I just heard the news on FB. Supposedly it was a blood clot. I'm in shock.
Rather than re-writing, thought I'd copy and paste what I wrote on my blog:
RIP the one and only Mete Akin. Just heard the terrible news. Mete was one of the first people in the hobby to show me kindness back in the Rebelscum days and we have been friends ever since. He was a hilarious guy and always had time for new collectors. The hobby will miss him and his passing really puts collecting into perspective. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. There will never be another...
Mete was the first person I ever interviewed for the collector snapshots.
He couldn't stop laughing after I posted this intense close up photo he sent me for an article he wrote for us. Typical Mete.

That's so sad, I never had the pleasure to talk to the guy but I've read a lot about him on the forums RIP Mete

Sad news. My thoughts are going out to his family.
Wasn't he in a car crash last year?

Hey Clint, yeah he was in a bad accident mate. Think he also had some serious surgery recently too. Poor guy. He was only a young bloke too, his 37th bday was just a few days ago.

That's what I thought. I figured that might have been the cause of the blood clot.
Definitely, he was taken too early and will be missed by the community. They replayed his interview at the end of the TVR's latest podcast.
