Lol thanks Clint , the hacksaw has been in my garage my whole life . Probably was my dads cause i didnt buy it.

Tips hmmm , well i used the vice to secure
The plastic as seen in the second picture . Then with the hacksaw go along the top where the
Plastic was glued to form a
Seal. Once i get a space i take a flathead srewdriver and just start popping pieces of plastic while over a garbage can ( the plastic shards are sharp) .

So you didn't actually cut thru the entire top. Just a spot to get a screwdriver into it.
