Dianoga trash monster
Hi guys, the Dianoga trash monster that was released with US Death Star play set, is this green monster made of a solid hard plastic or a rubbery more flexible one

Or are there variations of both ? I ask having never seen or had an original in hand

From memory Andy, the one I have has some flexibility to it (I haven't handled it for a l-o-n-g time as it's in storage somewhere ).

Re: Dianoga trash monster
They are made of a rubbery plastic that is most similar to the limbs of most standard figures - maybe just a slight bit more flexible then the limbs are though however .

Thanks for the link, Larry. I've seen that one before. I'm sure I could find one a lot cheaper. Just need a little bit of patiece.

On a side note: When having the Dianoga in my hand for the first time, I was surprised by it's sculpt.
I always assumed it was kind of Loch Ness monster having the eyes and mouth in the head part. But the mouth is located in the main body part.
Am I the only one?

I also assumed it was a Loch Ness monster type creature and was a bit surprised to see the mouth in the body

Re: Dianoga trash monster
I also concur they're rubbery. I've had more than one in the past (only have one right now in my own collection), and the neck is pretty bendy. The rest is a little more rigid, but still fairly flexible. The mouth sculpt also took me by surprise.
Larry, that guy advertises on kijiji a LOT. He is also a guy who overprices everything he has. Not sure if it's still his policy, but he also refused to ship, even to someone like me who lives 15 minutes from Hamilton.
I'll keep my eyes open for more, for everyone still looking for one.

Re: Dianoga trash monster
Awesome picture James
Thanks again for everyone's input I just assumed that it would be made of a more solid plastic and when this rubbery type thing came out of the jiffy bag I thought WTF , however I do think it’s a cool figure, I like the octopus type sucker rings on the underneath and the mouth is well sculpted despite being in a mad place

Re: Dianoga trash monster
Maybe one day they'll do a 6" Black Series set with it, and then it'll probably be a decent scale to the 3 3/4" line.
