Not that I know of.I have had it since it was new,but I don't remember exactly how it looked new.I know I didn't paint it.it's possible somebody in the family got a hold of and painted it.not sure.just wondered if anybody else has seen one like it.up close it really looks like it was done from the factory.the color is right and it doesn't look like it is smeared any wear.just looks like it was put on thick.

The paint apps on figures can be found in varying thickness, however I don't believe that is what this is. The fact that the area between the brow and the eye is blueish looking means we have some sort of running or staining. This shouts custom of some sort. Maybe even done with an ink pen since it is almost blue color.

I have had this since it was new.it has been like this for atleast 30 years.that about the time I stored them.the pic is not great, but there is no blue between the brows and eyes.somebody may have done something with it before I stored it,but they blended it good.no brush marks and I don't think paint pens were around 30 years ago.just curious.thanks for the info and the views.

The red square is the area of focus. The red circles is where we can see color bleeding. You say there isn't any, but it looks as though there is something. The eyes are not separated by distinct pink of the face. Also above the brow into the hairline on one side is another area that looks like there is something. This may be overspray but from the pic (and I know the pic is grainy) it looks like it has a blueish tint to it.

I see what you are seeing in the pic.in person there is a break between the brow and eye.it does blend in to the hair though.I am just going to mark it as a repaint because I am not sure and it is sometimes hard to tell from a pic.thanks for all the input, everybody is always very helpful on here.you guys rock.

I tried really hard to enhance the photo to bring out more detail but they aren't focused quite good enough to get much better quality with photoshop .
It is possible that it is just a case of a heavy paint application or overspray but it also looks like it could be a case of a magic marker bleeding too . Without better pics it is going to be impossible to determine for sure

Finally got a photoshop program? I still use default paint program. Doesn't work very well to enhance details.

I have actually been using a program on my computer called "Photo Gallery" for the most part and it was one that was already on my computer when I got it . Check to see if you have it on your computer Bryan - it is quite a bit simpler and works almost as good as a actual photo shop program

Re: LUKE SKYWALKER ANH
The eyebrows look to be different sizes as well. I don't think paint pen - I think the idea here was more magic marker. However, despite the bleeding, the black itself looks well defined. I have to trust John when he says he's the original owner and he has never touched it up, so we need to consider this may not be what it appears to be.
If it's not repainted, it's more likely it got a double (triple?) dose of spray op paint at the factory. With such an excessive amount, you'd expect a bit of running.
Just throwing out possibilities.

Re: LUKE SKYWALKER ANH
For me it doesn't look like a touch up, although I see your points (bluish colour bleeding out). I could imagine it to be an factory error in the way that the spray mask wasn't applied right and the sprayed on colour made wider eyebrows and could bleed out.
