Star Wars Card Trader App (SWCT) from Topps
Hey all,
Anyone else discover and use this app yet? Basically it's the old school cards in digital form and the newer releases Topps has of the Star Wars cards. It's free to join & you get daily credits for free to buy packs. It's fun & it's free. My username on the app is PAT-AT. If you're on there say hey! At this point I have more cards than I will ever need so I can help you complete your sets or you can trade me your Luke cards
Thanks!
Pat

I don't use it but heard about the app on the Chive Cast show. During the same episode Steve and Skye interviewed one of the Topps guys and it was hilarious and much more interesting than I thought.

Yeah it's definitely way better than I thought it would be. I don't really care about cards (unless it's the C-3PO "error" card). But opening packs every day has been fun. I got on really early & a lot of the first cards really skyrocketed in value. Of course I sold them all to fund other things. They have a lot of things going on to keep it interesting. It does have its flaws but I'm a free player so I can't complain too much. They had a contest where if you collected a certain number of cards of a specific character they issued a card with the winners names on the back. I thought that was really neat & I am now "immortalized" on the back of a Luke, Leia & Jawa card. I find it all to be fascinating really, especially the secondary market on eBay.

Not on it, but we discussed it on another forum. I think it was Andy (nico) who told me some of the crazy money people are paying for digital card. I think he said look up pink ones and they were a couple of hundred dollars. Seems crazy since these are just cards in digital format, but on each his own. Good to see you here also pat. Haven't spoken to you much, but I do remember a while back I was hesitant to pull the trigger on a top toys yoda and you got it while I was trying to find a market value on it. Kind of different not seeing the retrorewind name though.

Pat, I've heard them talking about them on the Chive Cast & Vintage Rebel pod cast's. It sounds interesting. But my need to have something physical, is keeping me from joining in. I prefer the old time OPC & Topps cards. Plus the digital cards are going for more than the real ones.

I really cant see the point in buying vitual cards, half the fun is opening the packets and actually having the cards in your hands

I have gotten several of the cards with codes for a free pack of digital cards. I hate when I get those because they are worthless to me. I don't have any way to access them. I don't have a smartphone, or any of the apple products. I tried using google play to use it on my laptop, but that wouldn't work either. I did manage to give a few of the codes away before they expired at least. I'll stick to good old original cardboard trading cards myself!
