There's been plenty of discussion on this episode on other places in the past. It has divided the vintage community, as many people think Jordan completely ripped off the original owners, while others think it was fair play. I see both sides, but this was one of the most lopsided deals he made on the show.

I believe the story goes that he did go back after and give more to the couple though. Can't swear to that, but I think I read that somewhere once.

The woman who sold the lot clearly said she did a little research and said it was worth around 26K. She also said that he had to make money on it as well, so he could have it for less. So don't know why their should be any controversy about it.
